Soldiers felt the breaching shotgun could be shortened, according to the Army report. Some soldiers replaced the stocks with purchased pistol grips, and many said they would have preferred “sawed-off” versions.

Something like this from Mossberg

This is a 14 inch AOW breaching shotgun from mossberg...

Or a Benelli M1 entry

I'd recommend the Benelli M1-Super 90. The one you pictured is one of their tactical models.

I've use a standard Benelli M1-Super 90 for about 5 years for all types of waterfowl, upland game, sporting clays and deer hunting in all kind of weather and conditions. With probably several thousand rounds shot through mine, I can count on 1 hand the number of times a round has failed to load or eject successfully. And that was only because I spent a weekend walking up pheasants with my buddy and our dogs through thick cattails with all the seeds packing in every crevasse of clothing, exposed orifice and inside the gun chamber. One quick, thorough cleaning and it was back in A1 operating condition.

The "Inertia Recoil Design" avoids the major pitfalls of gas-operated shotguns and is a big part of why they are such reliable shotguns and their owners so loyal.

When you may only get one chance to hit the target ( for hunting or military) and you want it to count, use a Benelli!
