DNC release ad....and CNN already questions it.
Democrats.org & CNN ^ | 07/14/03 | me

Posted on 07/14/2003 7:58:05 PM PDT by Pokey78

While turning channels, I come across Jeff Greenfield on CNN discussing the Niger/uranium story. He mentions that the Republicans pounced on Clinton's exact words diring the Monica/impeachment mess (clip shows Clinton's "is" is, and the "I did not have sex with that woman" phrases.

But then he showed a clip of the DNC's new ad and (paraphrasing) said that the other side could go too far.

The ad shows Bush at his SOTU speech uttering this sentence: "Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.". Greenfield points out the the ad DOES NOT contain the first 4 words "According to British intelligence".

So the Rats are trying to do another "die on the vine" add, but this time, at least CNN caught it.

Also, strange to see the DNC use a TV clip from Fox News. Maybe trying to discredit them along with Bush; killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

Click here to see the ad and for a transcript.

The flawed uranium claim won't have any legs over the long run - much less will parsing the DNC's excerpt... You could probably count the percentage of people who find that "according to British intelligence" caveat persuasive on the fingers of one hand. Still, this current DNC attack line of its own accord will prove of no benefit to them, in my estimation.

More important is the question of whether convincing evidence of WMDs will ever be publicized. If not, the political controversy will grow (and that probably in direct relation to the performance of the Dow, if you catch my drift..)

Doesn't matter, there are still two big holes in NY that Dems are responsible...there either stupid or desperate, but I think they're both.

Did you expect the truth to come from an organization run by a guy named Lytel?

Of course not. What surprised me is that anyone at CNN had the gonads to even question the ad.

Oops! Sorry. Democrats.ORG is not run by David Lytel. Democrats.COM is run by David Lytel.

L.N. Smithee regrets the error, but also asserts that other than this minor mistake, his intelligence is darn good.

" He mentions that the Republicans pounced on Clinton's exact words diring the Monica/impeachment mess (clip shows Clinton's "is" is, and the "I did not have sex with that woman" phrases."

The difference is that parsing Clinton's message reveals a lie. But with or without parsing Bush's message, he was communicating the truth about Iraq's WMD and nuclear programs.

This is wonderful! Yes! Go DNC! May they spend $20 million running this ad!

Mommy, how come the Democrats are running an ad that says the same thing the news show just said?

What's amazing about this, is that sane people have a tendency to believe Saddam truly tried to buy uranium from Africa.

No one can explain why our troops have found millions of dollars that were not accounted for by the UN stored in Iraq. Nor statements by Iraq scientists that they were to resume production once the heat was off, by buring parts to produce nuclear weapons.

The DNC might be doing us all a favor using their campaign dollars to keep Bush in office.
