That's a very fast boat. As far as I know, only boats made for racing are generally capable of such speeds.

Yeah, that's in the speed range of a Formula One racer ...

That is fast. We used to have a v drive, flat bottom boat with a 454 chevrolet engine in it. Because it was a two seater, it was nothing but engine. I wasn't in it at the time, but a state trooper clocked it for us at 96 mph - it wasn't equipped with a speedometer. That was way too fast for me.

Though my boat generally stays below 100MPH (cruise is at around 80), it's not uncommon to very common for offshore racing (cigarette) boats to be at 100+. Be aware that except in specially marked areas there is NO SPEED LIMIT on the water.

No. You can buy a Donzi or Fountain off the show room floor that will do that easily. Same old same old. People buy planes, cars, and boats way beyond their skill set and kill themselves with great profligacy.
I remember when you could buy a 427 Corbra Roadster off of the Ford dealers showroom floor. The car had 427 C.I. and about 425H.P. in a 2,500 frame. People killed themselves left and right in those.
Regards,
