Watchdog Group: Savage Slurs Jews

Talk host Michael Savage, who rose fast in the business by throwing a lot of shots, is about to catch another round of incoming.

The left-leaning media watchdog group Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) adds the latest charge in its July/August issue: that Savage "is virtually the only national talk jock targeting progressive Jews with ugly ethnic slurs and stereotypes."

In an article by Steve Rendall, FAIR says that last Dec.6, Savage made this remark about Jerry Springer: "He invites the lowest white trash he can dig his hands on ... and he makes a mockery of them and makes a living on it with his hooked nose...."

FAIR reports Savage has said of the grave markers in military cemeteries: "I like seeing crosses on our war memorials. You know why? Because 99.9 percent of those who died are Christians!"

Savage, who could not be reached for comment, was born into a Jewish family. He is also a strong supporter of Israel and its military policy. These have not been a great few months for Savage, an aggressive conservative who came out of nowhere to become a recognized voice in the highly competitive talk radio field.

First he moved his home station from ABC to Clear Channel, costing him radio outlets that included New York's WABC - which had previously been quite happy with his ratings.

He lost his MSNBC television show after telling a caller he hoped he would "get AIDS and die." Savage says the caller set him up and he didn't realize he was on the air live when he made the comment. He later apologized.

On his Web site, Savage says that even some "phony conservatives" have been piling on - referring to a report from Fox News that belittled his MSNBC ratings. (David Hinkley - NY Daily News)

As long as your putting women on who expose themselves, you can be as "nasty as you want to be". The problem with Savage is that he is effective in pointing out the moral decline in our society, the real threat to America remaining a strong nation. The forces of anti-Christ don't like a morrally strong America, because then we won't be easily duped into buying into Satan's last gasp deception with the Beast and the False Prophet. That makes the wicked very angry, because they won't be able to take nearly as many people to hell with them as they would like. They can't stand the idea of their fellow man living forever in perfect love, joy, and peace in Christ's Kingdom, while they wail and gnash their teeth forever, having chosen to spend eternity with their master, who always "burns" his followers.

The examples that FAIR uses in this article are lame. Sorry, but Savage is a big supporter of Jews and Israel. What he DOES attack is liberal Jews who support liberal policies that are a detriment to Jews and Israel.

His statistic is probably off. But the point is perfectly valid. If you added up all Americans who've died in combat, I'm sure the number of Christians is well over 95%.

Look, Danny Thomas had the BIGGEST hooked nose I've ever seen....it's NOT a religous thing. Actually it's almost a "place on earth" thing. Lots of Middle Eastern people have noses like that....geesh.

I don't think this was meant as a epithet. I think he was saying that the religious saw the evil and heeded the call to arms. On the point of crosses vs what, Stars of David, one has to remember that the Jews were being exterminated in the 1940s, and it would take several generations to replenish the population. It doesn't surprise me that the majority of those who died in combat were not Jewish (as evidenced by more crosses in the cemetaries).
