OK, I see the "hooked nose" thing about Jerry Springer.

Another example of the way Savage is nasty in a way that doesn't call for it. What did making a "hooked nose" comment about Springer add to any relevent condemnation of him? Similarly, he could have dressed down that prank caller on MSNBC without accusing him -- with no provocation whatsoever -- of being a "sodomite."

Michael Savage gets piled on for being entertaining? Even Joe Farah of Worldnetdaily who doesn't always agree with him, notes he's not a journalist. And let's face it, people seem to like him enough to make "The Savage Nation" a one number one best-seller. Liberals can't stand him because he looks like a mad dog. Some conservatives can stand his guts cause he's too forthright and right at times about issues where they fear to tread. Yeah let the liberals pile on about his comments. They're not worse than the ones you hear from Howard Stern.

FAIR reports Savage has said of the grave markers in military cemeteries: "I like seeing crosses on our war memorials. You know why? Because 99.9 percent of those who died are Christians!"

FAIR throws in an unrelated quote that it completely irrelevant, in hopes that the reader will misinterpret it. FAIR is not "fair."

Savage was probably just saying he didn't want liberals to take away religious symbols from their graves because of "separation of church and state."

FAIR hints that he is saying Jews should have to have crosses on their graves or that he likes the fact that there are a lot of dead Christians.

Look, Danny Thomas had the BIGGEST hooked nose I've ever seen....it's NOT a religous thing. Actually it's almost a "place on earth" thing. Lots of Middle Eastern people have noses like that....geesh.

No, when someone talks about somebody "making a living" off of their "hooked nose," unless that person is a professional circus freak, the "hooked nose" is symbolic for something larger--namely, Jewish descent.

I just thought he was an *******. Come to think of it, I still think he's an *******. Finding out what his faith or heritage is doesn't make any difference. Come to think about it, DILLIGAFF about the shape of his beak? Does anybody care about this? Except maybe Jerry?

I don't like Savage, myself (no reason... I just don't like the guy). But this is kind of reaching. As far as I can tell he bags on "progressive" anybody.

Savage sounds a certain chord with me. Limousine liberal National Propaganda Radio (NPR), the liberal ABC networks, and mealy mouthed CINOs, I confess, keep my anger level keyed up. I find myself looking for someone, somewhere to put a voice on my anger.

There was a time in this country when conservative anger was regularly heard. Here is a man that actually shows anger. Hanging it out there in front of everybody. He is about the only one I have heard that resonates my own anger towards the present day PC establishment. I want to hear somebody who is passionate enough about conservative issues to actually sound like it!

Hey, we human beings are after all, emotional creatures, we're not just a bunch of nerds. God made us with a head and a heart. There are times I want to hear something that fires my emotions, my heart, not just my head. Rush does a good job reaching our head, he's tops, nobody is smarter on the issues in my opinion. Savage is not near as smart, but he does what Rush does not do. He stirs people. Makes you mad or glad, one or the other, not much middle ground.

Granted, quite a few times Savage is out there in the weeds, when he does I don't ride with him. Whatever his faults, at least I have a voice that is a proxy, as it were, for my own anger.

I'm guessing insinuating a Jew is greedy and hook-nosed in the same sentence isn't enough for ya, huh.

Oh, spare me. I hate when the Savage apologists do this. "Oh, well he didn't call him a 'hooknose jew,' just greedy and hooknosed, and while Springer is a Jew, he didn't say it so it could be that he was just making an innocent comment about Jerry's hooknose."

Please. It's clear why he said what he said, just the same as when he told who he thought was gay to go get AIDS and die. In both cases, his comments intentionally were targeted at the recipient's sexuality and ethnicity/religion.

Ah, so if you're a conservative Jew, stereotypical insults are off-limits, but if you're a liberal, all bets are off. That's quite principled, really.

Let me try: Clarence Thomas, great man. Jesse Jackson, fried-chicken eatin', watermelon chewin', shuckin' and jivin' Sambo. Is that how it works? (Note to moderator: My Jesse Jackson comment was clearly meant to illustrate the point, not to use racist stereotypes for their own sake.).
