I've never heard Savage use the "N" word, in fact he had some loyal conservative blacks call last night. As far as the queers are concerned, he usually uses the term "sodomites", not faggots.

Savage can be crude and rude, but he is an asset--no question about that.

As for whether or not his comment about Springer was intended as an ethnic slur? Does it really matter? Hasn't Springer, by his cheap use of unfortunates and undereducated native Americans invited the very sort of disdain that Savage is quoted as expressing? I believe Springer is himself an immigrant--came over from England, when he was about 5, I believe, according to our understanding in Cincinnati, where he settled for a time, after he got out of Law School. As such, if the son of an immigrant, Michael Savage, wants to abuse him for his crude disrespect for people whose forebears built the land that has so benefitted Springer, more power to Savage.

Savage is not in the least anti-semitic. That charge is ludicrous. What Savage is, is anti-ungrateful Bastards who soak up the benefits of America, without any feeling of conscious responsibility, or real loyalty, to this land and her people.

I do not agree with Savage 100%, and I sometimes cringe at his unnecessary rudeness to some callers. But I am very, very grateful that he is on the air, with a large audience.

I didn't imply that Savage used those words. However, several people on the thread mentioned that basically it's OK to use slurs as long as it's for a political purpose. That is, Jesse Jackson or Barney Frank are fair game for using offensive slurs basically because they're left wingers and "deserve it." As I said before, I can't follow that "logic."

Ah, so intent plays no part of it. All comments take place in a vaccuum. So referring to a Jew on a nationally syndicated radio show (and not a street corner) as a greedy "hook nose" is OK, even if said Jew has a hooked nose?

So by that logic, referring to a creep like Jesse Jackson as a "big lipped, flat nosed, fried chicken eating Negro" is OK because technically it's accurate?

Further, you would have no problem if someone called Clarence Thomas or Jesse Petersen the same thing is also appropriate, regardless of their political beliefs?

Just because someone is conservative doesn't mean that they will fit your mold of what you think a conservative is. Also, everyone says and does things that they later regret. It doesn't mean they aren't conservative.
