That was my first though as well. One EMP blast will disarm the shooter. There is something to be said for the mechanical elegance of the gun. No electricity required :).

No kidding. And what if your whole "barrel" of bullets is screwed up from the beginning. I seem to remember reading something about them being able to fire with three or something un-shot bullets in front of them....but Murphy's Law says someones gonna end up with the smelly end of the stick and have one not work at all. No quick tap and rack to get a "working" bullet.
