No, he came a little later. IIRC, he was the one who almost ran Cleveland into bankruptcy.

Usually, I can keep up with Dennis, but this one:
Ringmaster of the Cirque de Salieri sent me to track down the reference.
I think it's referring to Mozart's adversary, who later called himself the patron saint of the mediocre.

You are correct sir. I knew that Mozart class in college would pay off sooner or later. Some people think that Salieri had a hand in Mozart's death.
To: KarlInOhio
Salieri also went crazy in his latter years. FYI.

As a matter of fact, the last time I was channel surfing and stopped on the Springer show my channel flicker filed a restraining order against me. Okay...who posted this from Miller?! You can come clean the coffee I just spewed out, from off of my laptop screen!
I'm laughing so hard I can barely sit upright. I wish I had something like this to read every morning!
Miller rules.

Miller's on our side these days, bud, and he's been eviscerating the left regularly and thoroughly...and causing much side-splitting laughter in the process.

No toss up. Washington DC, Marrion Barry - Crack head whore monger...etc....

I think the way for conservatives to get the best mileage out of Jerry's run is not to react with indignation. It's to patronizingly claim how it makes perfect sense for a ringleader of dim bulbs to win the nomination for the Democratic party. He won't win the General because while the vast majority of liberals might watch Jerry Springer as their daily source of mental enrichment, the average American has better things to do- like work an honest job. So let's nationalize "Jerry Springer" and dub the Democrat followers- "Jerry Springer Democrats". They will just LOVE that.

Here's what I had to say on another thread about the same topic.
Say what you want about the man. To my way of thinking he has brains. He took a genre of TV shows to the extreme and made it work so successfully that he now makes "millions of dollars" from it.
Is his TV show tacky and does it push the envelope of tastefulness? Sure.
But he has the brains to know when to back down. Think about what he did when the police told him if there was actual fighting on his show they would arrest people for assault and battery.
He has some political experience and would probably do the job as well as a lot of politicians that are already there.
