When I was in the liquor store, they had boxed bottles of 15 yr Dewars White Label Special reserve on sale for 23 bucks. I normally don't drink the blends, but Dewars is probably the best. Guess I'll have to go back tomorrow.

I'll have to visit the big store downtown here this week. I'm not an accomplished Scotch drinker, but I do like most of what I've tried. Scotch is interesting - a good, full bodied taste along with a little history. I need more practice. :)

I use Dewars as an every-day Scotch. Well, not "every day" but its more of a staple, with the more expensive single malts serving for special occasions and such.

My thoughts exactly. Usually the best you can get at a bar is the Glen Livet, but the Dalwhinnie is mightily impressive. Very smooth. Vanilla-like, almost creamy.
I don't like my Scotch to have a bite to it. I like to enjoy it. Wine, on the other hand, is a different story. Merlot or Cabernet, the more tannin and bitterer the better, excellent with almost all foods.
