This sounds nice on paper, but, as often the case, the devil is in the details.

No-one here is complaining about the military budget.... although I think a bit of the money there could be spent better.

TEMPORARY spending would help the economy, but that's not what we're complaining about. These are PERMANENT, SUBSTANTIAL increases being poured down ratholes, and just like that done by President Clinton, you will pay for it.

What about jobs for Americans? That should be pretty important when trying to stimulate an economy but Bush doesn't believe Americans need jobs, only the Chinese do. Throwing money at the problem isn't going to help ---- if you give away loads of money for people to buy foreign products, you only help the trade deficits grow ---right now isn't a good time for people to be purchasing things.

The problem is that the job growth from all the spending and stimulation is in China.
