Yeah, there could be. However the fact that they are not focusing on what she did would suggest that she didn't do anything but sit in a humvee that crashed. That's not meant as a disrespect to her, but there are probably a lot of guys in Iraq right now who did a lot more than that.

As we all do. Perhaps we should shut down the forum because its not fair to comment on anything from behind a keyboard.

Will those in her unit who died get their just reward from the DOD? Will all those who risked their lives in combat be recognized? Probably not. That's life. But I can't imagine that some guy who was shot in combat likes the idea of someone else getting a medal because she is a celebrity. But I could be wrong. Perhaps the combat troops in Iraq are totally thrilled that she gets a medal on top of big bucks for her story, while they get nothing.

All we are saying is to give medals to the people that EARN them instead of giving them out like Halloween candy. To give one to a person whose contribution was that of crash victim lessens the bravery of all those who really performed heroic acts.
