Yes, he was one of three Dems, I believe, who voted with the four Republicans. They all got taken off whatever committees they were on by Gifford Miller.

We definitely do not want for our next mayor, or even our next councilmember from that district, this vengeful, spiteful, vain person, Gifford Miller, whose original first name is not originally Gifford but was changed in an attempt to sound classier.

Coleus I know you and I would have taken your word for it with you just relating it as you did. I didn't need links for proof, but thanks anyway!

My son has occassional business so while he is there on fairly regular basis it is not by any means a daily basis so I guess he didn't have occassion to see what you heart reported. Good to know, glad it's been changed. Sorry it was at such a cost.

Yes, you are right that Miller is a piece of work and will be running for mayor. Even worse, it looks like Charles Barron will be running for mayor as well. I don't know which is scarier! With Bloomberg the only republican running for mayor next time around I don't know what will happen. Do you know of any republican who might challenge Bloomberg in the primary or are Bloomberg's bucks too much for someone else to take on?

In the case of speaker of the council, I think Jose Rivera from the Bronx is possibly eyeing that position and I don't know who else.

I don't know of anyone. Badillo has said Bloomberg's bucks are too formidable. Charlie Millard could do it, but he isn't quite ready this time around and wouldn't challenge Bloomberg anyway. I wish Brett Schundler would establish residence here!

That is an awesome idea. Maybe someone, many someones should suggest it to him. Wonder if he has ever thought of doing that? Guess if he did there would be those shouting how he is not a true NYer but just politically ambitious. The Dems would be shouting it the loudest, in spite of the fact that Hillary fits that bill to a tee.

Regarding Joel Rivera vying for the Council Speakership...he is the majority leader but right now he is only 24 years old so I don't know if he really has a chance. His dad is a NY Assemblyman too....for many years I understand but I don't know his first name.
