If you make the barriers high enough, companies in America wont be able to compete with those in Canada or Germany. Multinationals just laugh. Capital doesn't migrate; it teleports. Throw up enough barriers and Silicon Valley is going to look like Flint, Michigan. I think I just saw Michael Moore walking up Sand Hill road.
We don't really have a choice, but as long as they are importing workers we can still compete. If they export the jobs, we're Simply Out of Luck.
