Five transsexuals are suing a pub boss who threw them out after one of the group used the ladies' loos.

Landlord John Gawthorp says he asked the group to leave after other customers threatened to beat them up.

Mr Gawthorp, who is fighting the case at Northampton County Court, has branded the action "ludicrous".

Women customers at the Red Lion pub in Thornby, Northamptonshire, got angry when Jayne Smith - who has not yet had sex-change surgery - popped into the ladies' WC.

The women warned the landlord they would use physical violence if they caught any of the sex-swap group using toilets.

Mr Gawthorp said: "I considered it my duty to stop that (violence) happening. I decided to ask them to leave. I tried to defuse the situation and stop any fireworks occurring."

He has insisted he is not a bigot and had told the group at the time that he was gay.

But he claims he had no alternative than to act.

Jayne, 55, was at the pub with Daphne Lalor, Nicki Collett, Mandy Brook and Saskia Cousins.

Each of them is asking for £2,000 in damages, claiming they suffered sexual discrimination.

The transsexuals are backed by the Equal Opportunities Commission, which is seeking to prove that the Sex Discrimination Act can be applied outside the workplace.

The group has threatened to take the case all the way to the European Court of Human Rights if the county court judge rules against them.

Back 15 years ago we were purchasing loans from the FDIC when they were closing down banks. Usually there were a lot of people running around but not at this one site. We asked where everyone was and they said a guy had a sex change operation and the men didn't want him in theirs and the women didn't want him in theirs so they all had to go to sensitivity training.

We estimated the number of people attending the training, avg salary and figured it cost $250,000 to sensitize them.....could have built the third bathroom for that.

It's utterly ludicrous that five trannies who get thrown out of a pub are a) allowed to file suit, and b) supported by goobermint lawyers.

I notice two things about this article. First of all, it's in England and second of all, don't they have a losers' pay system? These five morons are gonna pay a lot of money to pursue this case.
