But where is the GM employee who is a Christian who is strong enough to walk away from GM and make another life?

There's the rub.

It's all "hot air". The people don't vote with their feet anymore because fear has transcended faith in the United States. We are, in effect, enslaved by the IUO called the US Dollar.

Central banking has replaced morality.

And people wonder why I think the party's over. America is in "big time" trouble with no end in sight. Diversity, perversity, secularism, abortion, and etc. have this country looking like a bunch of moral morons. Absolutely NONE of this tide is being pushed back. Religous leaders, where are you? Hiding behind your 501C3s? Lord help us!

To this Bible-believing Christian, to say that an individual's "sexual orientation" falls into the category of a factor that "cannot be changed or chosen", well, them's fighting words!

To this MIT-trained biologist, it's an assertion that has not been scientifically proven. In the absence of such proof, thousands of years of tradition in multiple cultures (condemnation of homosexuality is hardly limited to the Judaeo-Christian tradition) should not be lightly discarded.

This is kind of amusing- I appreciate thr fact that this guy is standing up for his beliefs, but it's ironic that he's using anti-discrimination laws that are usually the weapon of choice for the left-wing crowd.

I would go so far as to say that GM should be allowed to sponsor, or not sponsor, whatever group it wants. The rest of us are free to show our displeasure with their sponsorship choices by buying a Ford.

What ever happened to going to work and actually working? But, companies brought it on themselves by allowing all this extra-curricular nonsense.

To this Bible-believing Christian, to say that an individual's "sexual orientation" falls into the category of a factor that "cannot be changed or chosen", well, them's fighting words!

That's because the homosexuals have altered the language of the debate by such words as "homophobia" and "sexual orientation".

Rush irritated the crap out of me during a recent discussion of whether judicial nominee Pryor was "homophobic" for rescheduling a Disneyworld visit to avoid "Gay Days". Simply by using that idiotic and newly-coined word he legitimized the argument of Pryor's detractors - namely that Pryor "hated and feared gays". The fact of the matter is Mr. Pryor was simply trying to keep his children from being exposed to open homosexual "displays of affection" such as grabbing crotches, face-sucking, etc.

I'd have done the same. That's not what people take their kids to Disneyworld to see.

Sexual orientation is more properly termed sexual preference, for the behavior is chosen. It is not innate or inborn, no matter how much the homosexuals would like to pretend it is. And while there may be a very few people who actually suffer from homophobia (irrational or extreme fear of homosexuals), most people simply don't want to hear about it or have to look at it. When forced to, the reaction isn't fear, but disgust.

Despite that policy, G.M. has no hesitation in sanctioning GM PLUS, a group with the stated mission of supporting gay and lesbian issues.

This is happening in my company as well. We have the Rainbow Initiative, which has resulted in over 70% of the local workforce at least, in being gay.

Problem is, the company is shutting down their entire west coast operation and outsourcing everything to India. The gay employees have filed a class action lawsuit based on anti-discrimination laws. It doesn't matter that everybody (not just gays) either has been or soon will be fired.

Now management is tap dancing on the head of a pin to show that only gay Indian offshore workers will be hired to replace them.

Incredible.

according to Brian Akre, G.M.'s director of news relations, as quoted by Cybercast News Service, the company "does not recognize religious or political organizations as company-sponsored affinity groups because of the divisiveness inherent in trying to accomodate their widely disparate views."

So, according to General Motors, being a Christian is inherently divisive and political. Being gay is not. I always wondered how 2% of the population (homosexuals) amassed so much political power.

Diversity in and of itself promotes "widely disparate views." The very root Latin meaning of diversity is "apartness." When you stereotype folks according to the skin color/race, you are not truly dealing with the diversity of folks who are distinct one from another. You're guilty of lumping folks into rainbow categories 'cause there's only 7 colors on their rainbow scale.

Corporate America used to be the realm of Conservatives. No longer. Try to make any career headway these days as a Conservative. Only Leftists are PC in the boardroom ever since the storm of the 1960s destroyed all we hold dear.

.... to "promote a specific, written, advertised employment policy that prohibits discrimination based upon sexual orientation," ....

Wouldn't sexual orientation include all the "philias" like pedophilia, necrophilia, etc.? Sounds like an invitation to mayhem.
