Voting Machine Study Divides Md. Officials, Experts For some in Maryland, the report yesterday by Johns Hopkins University computer security experts that electronic voting machines could easily be hacked into set off alarm bells.

But for others, including the state officials who recently signed a $55.6 million agreement to put the units in every voting precinct by March, the report is one more example of "technological hysteria." "The study should be setting off alarm bells," said Del. William A. Bronrott (D-Montgomery). "We need to be 100 percent sure that there is no chance that our machines can be tampered with." I wonder how much Maryland paid these "experts" to tell them what everybody on FR already knew years ago.

And will be.

I thought that was the whole purpose of buying voting machines.

voting machines could easily be hacked... And will be.

Yes, and soon the hackers will hack the hackers. And the winner will be decided by who hired the best hackers.

Hmmmmm, a new career direction? Or even a little gig on the side? Hmmmmm....

As soon as the Democrats learn that this easily hacked system can be used to their voter fraud advantage, they'll be all for it.

Stupid State Officials. Everyone they check with says the machines are no good and they buy them anyway.

I liked the machines we used before. Optical scanners are hard to fool. Recounts are very possible and easy. Not on these electronic machines no recount is even possible. It will give you the same wrong count every time. No paper trail to check and no way to double check the machine.

Shame on my home state.
