It was the other way around. Como was the Italian.

All I know that peace between the two did not happen until Jim Nabors stepped in and flexed some muscle.

He prevented a bloodbath. Everyone knew that they couldn't depend on Jack Parr any more.

They all secretly feared Nat King Cole.

Watching spoiled little white brats from the cushy suburbs - the little trust fund babies - play at being "G's" and wearing the baggy pants that hang off their a@@ and talk like they just exited Advanced Ebonics class is a gut buster. It's also fun to explain to them how that baggy pants style started. (In prison -- to provide, uh, "quick 'n easy" access.)

Don't get me started on Jack Parr. Mr. "Squeaky Clean."
Everyone knows he was behind that attempted "drive by" of George Goeble.

Claudine was just the muscle.
Eddie Fisher, Andy Williams and Bobby Darin, they called the shots. Here they are with their "colors".

Life is one big circle.
They are already grooming some black kid from the hood to be the next Bobby Sherman.

I believe Eminem grew up in Clawson, Michigan. It's about 6 miles north of Detroit. That is, 6 miles north of 8 Mile Road. It's not a bad place to live. It's definitely middle class, not poor or lower middle class.
I don't know if he lived in a house, apartment, or trailer park though. Each of those can change the type of people you're around, even if the community itself is ok.
His mom gets interviewed on the local news every so often. She says that his act is all an act. She doesn't understand why he runs down his family for money though. That is, she doesn't understand being that greedy/ambitious.
He definitely wasn't in a gang or anything. There are black gangs in Detroit, and some white biker gangs in the suburbs, but there aren't any white hip-hop style gangs in the Detroit suburbs. (as far as I know - and some of my relatives would know about that kind of thing personally). There might be some loose drug networks, but the large organized networks were put down a while ago. I don't believe they can really be called organized crime right now. If crime was truly organized around here, the murder rate would be lower in Detroit, as there wouldn't be any turf wars, that kind of thing.
