While I agree with your assessment of 'well-meaning Americans', I know quite a few folks who will not roll over. Maybe it's just talk. One never knows what they'll do in a situation until in that situation.
The federals have already proven they have no qualms with shooting civilians, armed or unarmed. I'm hoping the local law enforcement folks do.
If a ban were to come to pass, who do you think would end up doing the collection?

One never knows what they'll do in a situation until in that situation."My friend, a just retired SpecOps LTC, says that 90% of all gunowners will meekly hand over their guns with a "Oooooh Please don't hurt me" and that'll be it. I remind him that there are about 100 MILLION gunowners. If 90% "turn them all in" like SLIMESTEIN wants...that'll still leave a group of about 10 MILLION gunowners who are hard core and possibly ex-military and a group of them will be combat vets...that's quite a large army to have to deal with especially in the context of the urban guerilla.
