It's a helicopter, and it's coming this way. It's flying something behind it, I can't quite make it out, it's a large banner and it says, uh - Happy... Thaaaaanksss... giving! ... From ... W ... K ... R... P!! No parachutes yet. Can't be skydivers... I can't tell just yet what they are, but - Oh my God, Johnny, they're turkeys!! Johnny, can you get this? Oh, they're plunging to the earth right in front of our eyes! One just went through the windshield of a parked car! Oh, the humanity! The turkeys are hitting the ground like sacks of wet cement! Not since the Hindenberg tragedy has there been anything like this!

Exactly. He asked the questions everybody else would be embarassed to ask.I don't know. I'd like an answer to this question right here. Of course we shouldn't expect any answers, just do what we're told
WND: Page 1 of the Washington Times reports "U.S. reverses its position on Hamas. Powell says nonviolence key to new role." And my question: If this is done, despite Abbas' total violation of the road map's requirement that Hamas be disarmed, why should al-Qaida not be extended the same olive branch?
Hmmmm, now why would the administration change its position on a terrorist organization and especially Hamas?
More than 50 percent of Hamas's current funding comes from Saudi Arabia and is increasing despite US President George W. Bush's call to the kingdom to halt aid to Palestinian terrorist groups, Dore Gold, a former Israeli ambassador to the UN and a researcher of terrorist financing, said Tuesday in Washington.
"The Saudi share of Hamas funding is growing, not declining. We're getting no change in Saudi behavior," Gold said at a roundtable on Saudi terrorist financing and September 11 organized by Reps. Ileana Ros Lehtinen (R-Florida), chair of the House International Relations Subcommittee on the Middle East and Central Asia, and Gary Ackerman (D-New York), the ranking Democrat on the subcommittee
Saudi Provides Most Of Hamas Funding: Dore Gold
Oh, but I forgot, no one in the 'official' Saudi government knows anything. And the same official Saudi government refused last week to condemn Hamas. And Saudi Arabia is an 'ally' on the WOT.
Reminds me of the firefighter (Saudi Arabia) who start the fires just to call other fire departments (the Western World) in and appear as the hero

This is on about the same level as him rebuffing the Enquirer or Weekly World News.
In short, who really cares if he blows off a 4th rate flunky reporter from a 5th rate hysteria rag?

So let me get this straight. The President agrees to take questions from the press. He tells those assembled that he and Sharon will alternate CALLING on a member of the press for a question and then Les Kinsolving rudely ignores the President's stated guidelines and blurts out a question and WND gets po'd because the President refuses to let Kinsolving finish his question. Is that the gist of this story?
Sounds like the President was pretty tame in his response.

The only other that comes close was where they booked "Scum of The Earth" for a concert. Whenever they asked someone what the time was, the runt of the group would say "That's it for him, then!" and throw them out the window was a scream. But yes, "Turkeys Away" was the king.

McCLELLAN: Well, first, let me speak to the issue of the Texas-Mexico border. Because when the President was governor, he made it very clear that he was opposed to building a wall along that border, that walls tend to separate people. And he made his views very clear on that issue as governor. And so that was a view he expressed as governor. My only question is why are there only 68 miles walled up? Sheesh, 68 miles?!? That's it? When is he planning to do something on immigration? When the entire country of Mexico gets up here?

Because when the President was governor, he made it very clear that he was opposed to building a wall along that border, that walls tend to separate people. We are a separate people with a separate country and a separate culture. I don't want my culture merged with the Mexican culture as is happening now. We need a huge wall that's actually watched and protected. Legal immigration is one thing, but we're being invaded and nobody cares.

Well duh, there weren't any Mexicans coming across with bombs strapped to their bodies and blowing up Americans.

Thanks for the ping. I saw that incident on MSNBC earlier. Kinsolving always tends to ask the hard questions Bush loves to hide from, but this time he did it in a real nasty way. Very telling.
Helen Thomas was right about this guy all along, IMO.

The only people standing in the way of the Road Map are fundies. Polls show that over 80% of Arabs and Jews support it. Bush is trying to create peace but there are some who apparently favor Jewish-Muslim violence and NO road map to peace would be acceptable. They know no compromise.

Well, yes and no.

Why call on WND's reporter when reporters from the alphabets and cable TV are present? The aforementioned have a much larger audience!
/////////
On the contrary. Why not? Makes little sense that he play to the major networks (who trash him daily).

The PA refuses to live up to prior agreements. It has once again agreed to crack down on Hamas and Islamic Jihad (and Fatah Tanzim) only to renege.
Meanwhile as a precondition for doing nothing, they are demanding that Israel surrender terrorists in jail.
80% of Israelis do not support any of this.

Good point. I don't recall his tearing down any prison walls here in Texas during his time as Governor!
