Whoever planted the story that Saddam is wearing explosives did us a big favor. This absolutely guarantees he'll be killed, not captured, possibly taking some of our soldiers with him.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if we didn't plant this tidbit ourselves. Get the scenario lined up ahead of time.

Love it!

Dr. Miguelito Lovelace??? huh?

You're showing your youth; that's from the original "Wild Wild West" TV series. The actor is the late (and very diminutive) Michael Dunn.

If this is true, it is good news. I don't think we want to take him alive. Whether our troops kill him or he kills himself doesn't matter. A live Saddam has to be held & tried & there will be a huge argument involving the entire world, about who gets to do those 2 things. Lets hope his ultimate disposal is no more of a problem than was the disposal of his sons.

Actually, if I recall the movie "Hot Shots!" correctly, it wasn't a belt he was into wearing (bonus points to anyone who posts a still from the film with Saddam showing off his tan line).

As long as he's dead, what does it matters how he dies?

This is why we have snipers. A .30-06 at 500 yards would do the trick quite nicely, and would leave enough of his sorry ass to drag through the streets, hang from a lightpost, or prop him up in a carnival show; whatever the Iraqis want to do with his carcass.

If true, I wonder how his security team feels about traveling around with a guy who could blow up any minute, intentionally or accidentally.
