I was checking out this baby this week:

Chambered for .40 S&W, 10 Round double stack and fairly concealable. Fit my hand like a glove.

"And, for those times 'when you absolutely, positively have to kill every mother f***er in the room...accept no substitute'"

If you ever really have to do that, make sure that you use a semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun with 00 buck. With one in the spout and 8 in the magazine, 9 rounds of 00 with 9 pellets to the shell = 81 pellets of about the same size as a 9mm or .357. That's 9 x 1 7/8th ounces - or over a pound - of flying lead. Plus you don't have to be all that accurate when aiming it.

Nothing - no pistol, no SMG, no rifle, no automatic rifle - beats a semi-auto shotgun for lethality and versality in close combat. Shotguns give you more projectiles with better control plus a major psychological advantage: some fools will try to rush a man holding a rifle or a pistol or even an SMG on them, while no one but a suicidal idiot would ever even think of rushing a man holding a shotgun.

I fired a pocket .45 once - never again. :)

No, it was Deet's Range in New Braunfels, TX.

This is a .50cal dust cloud at 200 yards!!

You and me both!!! This is a Barrett belonging to TexasCowboy.

Sweet shooter!! Less recoil than a Sharps!

Agreed the auto shotgun is a fine weapon.

The only disagreement is that you do have to aim and at room distances it probably will not spread enough to cover more than a few inches. I have never owned one but one of the submachine guns might be better at that range and purpose.

That's why stubby has no case.

True. I have fired lightweight .45s. They HURT. The recoil is harsh.

Even so, I could put up with occasional practice with a very small, very light, .45.

For revolver fans (there is nothing like a good revolver) the .44 special would be a good starting point.

The problem I have with modern firearms is that they are all over-engineered, and thus they are too big for their cartridges and too heavy and too big to fit in a pocket.

This is, in my thinking, probably because of too many lawyers.

How many firearms are now produced with a "liability trigger" of 15 or 20 foot-pounds or more?

To get back to the 'ThunderZap', well, I hope that the engineers will get it done.

Con Law...no matter what you see ...if it is comfortable to you...feels good...shoots good..then it is what you want.

You might want to see if they have it in 45.acp...but that is up to you.

I am not partial to the little pipsqueak rounds that cutie spits out. How about an HK-51?:

That's an ~10" barrel on a .308! (The muzzle flash makes the flash-bang JBT grenades unnecessary!)

Very Nice but I prefer something more like this.

For close in work, try this.

For really close work, this is very useful.

If it's personal, use this.

Steely...nice of you to respond. The Ingram MAC 10 with a Sionics Suppressor was designed to kill a room full of people with out the hotel staff knowing what had happened. This is a very specific job requirement. It is not a sporting weapon. It is a weapon for killing. It gained fame during the 80's and the drug war years. But it does what it was designed to do. And the shot guns you mentioned do not fit this job description. Trust me...I have had to reload a shot gun during a gun fight...it sucks.

You and I tend to think alike, although I lean a little more heavily on the .308 side of things. The missus sure likes her AR15 HBAR, and the kids do well with their CARs.

As for my “Room Broom” I’ve got a nicely done 18-inch Remington 870 Standard Model from Scattergun Technologies. Keep it loaded with 3-inch magnum “00”, I also have a Sig 228 9mm as more or less my house gun, a S&W model 19 .357 magnum and my carry gun is a HK P7M8 9mm.

I’d like to find me a nice HK 91 for my rifle of choice.

My wife took a liking to a nice Sig 239 in 9mm, so that resides in her nightstand next to a 3-cell mag lite.

I have one similar to this on layaway. Just picture it with a full stock and lots of brass fittings, including trigger guard & buttplate + some relief carving on the stock. It's a .50 cal. round ball target rifle and was made in 1947 by Jack Weichold. I'm having a hard time finding any info on him even though he was rated up there with Harry Pope and other great rifle makers.

(That's not me) =^)
