My Coast Guard Brothers and Sisters earned their pay today!
They went about 30 miles out to rescue a fishing boat
that had a 1' x 2' hole under the waterline.
Thank goodness is was a nice day up here with fairly calm seas.
I listened to the whole case in the radio room while I worked
and when things got hectic I assisted the radio watchstander
since I am still qualified to stand radio watchs.
This was case #136 since Oct 1 of last year.
There are around 200 cases a year.
Not all are life threating like this one was,
but there are enough of these type to make me realize
how proud I am of the crew at the Station.
Anyone of them would risk their life to save someone elses in danger on the water.
