You call this a ceasefire? Joseph Farah reveals 167 PA attacks in last 30 days

The news has been relatively free of reports of terrorist violence in Israel for the last month.

It would be logical to assume, therefore, that the ceasefire called by the Palestinian Authority one month ago has been a success.

But, as most keen Middle East observers understand, logic plays little role in such matters.

In fact, what we've really witnessed during these 30 days is not so much a ceasefire by the Arab terrorists, but a moratorium on reporting terrorist attacks by the international news media.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, there have been a total of 167 Arab terror attacks on the Jewish state in the last four weeks. For the arithmetically handicapped, that works out to six attacks a day.

At the same time, as part of the agreement, the Palestinian Authority vowed to swear off "incitement" of attacks.

This week, official PA Television rebroadcast an old video clip, filled with violence, stone throwing and shootings, with a script using the following language:

Killing, bombardment and house demolition

That will not hurt our strength.

By God, we shall say hello to you, oh Jerusalem

We will take our freedom.

We are your boys Palestine

This is the Intifada generation

We will attack while the stones are in our hands

By God, [may] your struggle be like this.

We will not surrender, and no to humiliation

Even if the airplanes are bombing us

... until the liberation of Palestine

our blood will not be in vain

We are your people. Oh old one [Arafat is seen on screen]

We are the heroes of stone!

Is that not incitement? Do only 167 attacks represent a ceasefire?

Despite the continued attacks, despite the PA's unwillingness to make any concessions, despite Israel's willingness to release hundreds of terrorist prisoners, despite the Jewish state's agreement to withdraw from territories where terrorists have been operating, despite Mahmoud Abbas' decision not to disarm or disband even the worst terrorist operatives, the world continues to pretend that progress is being made.

What's really going on?

This is no ceasefire.

The Arabic word being used to describe the agreement is "hudna."

A "hudna" is a term that doesn't really translate accurately to "ceasefire." It really means a temporary cessation of hostilities with the intention of regaining one's own strength for ultimate victory.

And that's just what is happening in the minds of the PA leadership now.

The PA is rearming, building up its own "police" force – which more accurately resembles an army of 30,000. In addition, allied groups, such as Hamas, are building an arsenal of 1,000 Kassam rockets to target Israeli population centers whenever they decide the "hudna" is over.

All over the world, governments are arresting terrorists – some of whom have committed acts of violence, others who were merely suspected of plotting such activities. The world recognizes the necessity of such actions – except in one place: Israel. The world demands Israel release 6,000 terrorists, fully knowing what they will do – kill and kill again.

This is not a roadmap to peace. It more closely resembles a street that leads nowhere, just round and round in circles – a street loaded with landmines and no exit in sight.

Yet President Bush continues to push the Israelis down this road. There is no similar pressure applied to the PA. No matter what the evidence, it seems, no matter what the results of these continuing experiments in international diplomacy, the world community refuses to recognize failure. And, worst of all, the elite corporate media worldwide refuses to see and report the obvious truth.

John Loftus and Mark Aarons, The Secret War Against the Jews, St. Martin's Griffin, 1994, is good context for the continuing asymmetrical pressure on Israel.

Why are we "doing business" with Abbas? He's an Arafat doppleganger.

Why is there any consideration of releasing even one Palestinian terrorist?

Why is there the slightest objection to the security fence? Self-defense is the right of the state.

Why are we giving the terrorist Palestinians a terrorist state? They've done nothing they agreed to do in Oslo.

Sorry, the whole Palistate schtick is a nonstarter for me.

No deals with terrorists. Period.

As for the hudna, its historic context is Mohammed using it to rearm for the slaughter of the infidels. Religion of pieces.

What else is there to do Farrah? Ya got any brilliant WND ideas?

BTW, Sharon is still building the fence or the wall as they call it.

No body is calling this the end of the violence. Nobody.

Since the roadmap was launched in Aqaba over 50 people have been murdered, and dozens were injured.

Since the hudna was announced "only" 4 Israelis were murdered, and 1 foreign worker was murdered, in addition to countless injuries as well.

Some ceasefire. We are negotiating with terrorists and it will screw Israel over very soon (with terrorist attacks claiming lives even greater then Olso)....just watch.

What else is there to do Farrah?

What else?

1. Close the PLO offices in DC

2. Stop all communications with these terrorists

3. Cut off all the aid to the PA

4. Destroy the PA, Hamas, and the rest of the terrorist groups. Arrest or kill their memebers. Then expel their supporters.

5. Those who remain have Jordan as their representative voice

6. Israel gives those who want to leave money and their promise never to come back

7. Finally, those who are left become citizens of Jordan who are allowed to remain in Judea Samaria and Gaza, which are now under Israeli rightful soverignty.
