Just take a look at the Iran/Iraq with a million Muslims killed by Muslims.
Iraqi regime was secularist.
Or Hama Syria where dictator Hafez Assad slaughtered 20,000 Muslims in 1982
Assad was not a regular Muslim, he was an Alawite. Also he was a BAATH party leader which has program of secularization and westernization (like Ataturk followers or Iraqi BAATH).
Syrian regime is not Islamic and Christians have a good position in the society (as they used to have in Iraq before US intervention).
You can say all that about the leaders and regimes of Syria, Iran and Iraq but the men who died in these conflicts called themselves Muslims and lived in Muslim cultures.
