"In the post-Bill Clinton era it's not surprising that a married man would lie about a martial infidelity." I thought that was pre-Bill Clinton. Sometimes it's so difficult keeping his legacy straight. And what's "martial" infidelity? Fighting for the enemy?

star Kobe Bryant and his 19-year-old accuser had some consensual sexual contact, but the intercourse was not consensualOh boy, I am very conflicted on this. If this woman had oral sex with Bryant, and resisted intercourse, should that be equated with a rape where there was no sexual contact prior to the rape? Maybe they need to come up with a new name for this kind of (disclaimer:alleged) rape.

Well, I wonder about the gag order that was issued by a judge last Friday and how this got out...

"I don't think it means a lot," Silverman said. "In the post-Bill Clinton era it's not surprising that a married man would lie about a martial infidelity." If I knew I was being accused of rape, and knew I was guilty of no more than adultery, you better believe I would tell the police the truth. Like the $4 million ring, Bryant's lies are evidence that he knew he was guilty of more than mere adultery.

If there is any ironic humor to be found in this sad situation, it surely is the justified and near-total abandonment of Kobe by other African-Americans famous and "ordinary" -- due largely to fact that he dared to boink, consensually or otherwise, a white chick. Even Mike Tyson was smart enough to avoid that complication...

Democrats can now argue that perjury is okay as long as it's about sex and you don't like the prosecution. Presumably, with a straight face.

Prosecutors say Kobe lied to authoritiesNot subject to the gag order, I guess?

I think that they had some type of consenual sex does not help the DA. It appears to me that the "I changed my mind in the middle of sex" rape charge is harder to prove. Drudge on his Sunday night show said he heard that anal sex was involed. Rumors, rumors, and more rumors. It is just beginning.

"In the post-Bill Clinton era it's not surprising that a married man would lie about a martial infidelity." Some even lie about infidelities here on this planet.

Excuse me, for those who are saying that if she consented to other acts besides intercourse therefore he didn't rape her, may I suggest that in the era of Bill Clinton those other acts are NOT SEX, therefore she did not consent to sex thus it is rape.
