[history]
Doing your civic duty could become much more lucrative under an initiative filed Wednesday that seeks to turn Arizona elections into a statewide game of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
The initiative, filed by former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mark Osterloh of Tucson, would reward one lucky voter with $1 million from the state Lottery every two years.

"We're rewarding patriotism," INCORRECT!! patriotism is when you voluntarily contribute to the well being of your country

This idea is racist and discriminatory and will being overturned in the courts with the help of the ACLU and Presidente Fox. Theoretically, only US citizens are allowed to vote (I know, I know, how else are many Mexicans going to earn several hundred dollars each election if we REALLY don't let them vote). Therefore, we have a lottery, an expenditure of public money, where some of us are excluded from winning solely because of our national origin.

Yea, sure, pork the taxpayers out of another million. Who cares, say the gov, it's just gov money anyway, right?
Besides, it will get more lowlife demonrats to vote.
Bad all the way around.

this is just too stupid
If a person has to bribed to vote by a slim chance to win a lottery then I doubt that person is very well informed. Of course, that means more dumocrats voting.

If the initative actually becomes AZ law, wouldn't be funny if the winning voter of the lottery turned out to be a dead person?

Folks, we are witnessing the unraveling of the Republic.
Sure... The 'United States of America' will continue to exist, but not in any way that resembles the ideas behind it's inception.
It was a nice run.... too bad it's going out with a whimper instead of a bang.

This will never become law. Many people view the lottery as gambling and would not want to participate in such a scheme that might violate their personal or religious convictions.

It would be interesting to know if Soros is funding Osterloh's insanity. I wouldn't be surprised to see Soros dump a couple of million on ads for these nutty initiatives.
Soros has funded several of the initiatives that are being used to destroy Arizona.

If you have to be bribed to vote, you probably shouldn't be voting in the first place.

{"The idea behind this is to increase voter participation from well below 50 percent to above 90 percent."}
Ins't ironic that the AZ RATS wish to increase voter turnout, when they adamantly oppose laws requiring voters to present legitimate forms of ID before voting.
