Chevrolets and Hummers to be assembled in Russia

Perhaps, Chevrolet and Hummer cars will be assembled in Russia soon, a source close to the negotiations between the Avtotor company and General Motors Corp. told RBC. At present, an agreement to assemble Chevrolet TrailBlazer, Chevrolet Tahoe and Hummer H2 models at the Russian plant is in the stage of coordinating technical details, and, if everything goes well, it will be signed at a car show scheduled for August 25-31 in Moscow.

However, Avtotor’s press service refused to confirm or refute this information. But it said that Chevrolet cars were indeed considered as the third model to be assembled at the plant.

It should be noted that Russian plants assemble various foreign models, including Kia, BMW, Ford cars. A new Niva model has been launched together with the Chevrolet company. Such models are priced much lower than their foreign analogues.

Awesome! Now, is there a way one could approach someone on the factory floor, with regard to the Hummer, without sounding too much like an ex-president?

They didn't say they would be assembling them for export. My guess is they are intended for the Eastern European domestic market.

I can't wait to buy my Russian assembled Chevy...

I wonder how many buyers will discover empty flasks and bottles of Smirnoff buried in various nooks and crannies as "souvineers."

Ah, grasshopper, you must be an optimist and look for any full bottles or flasks that they may have left behind!

Not even if it were 4:59PM Moscow Time would a Russian assembler leave a full vessel of "juice" behind!

You know so much about mind of russian assembler then I thrilled:)).
But in my experience I noticed that some american guys drink somewhat harder then me. At least they overdrank me a lot in our encounters. We drink same but I cann't even sit straight but them wander around as they fresh.

I would say another thing will happen. Russians will update and simplify those cars so they could serve military and be fixed on laps.
