WASHINGTON - Anyone who believed that the massive congressional report into the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 would be read, discussed for a few days and then forgotten, was gravely mistaken.
It was a report put together by Republican and Democrat politicians, so there was plenty of "institutional criticism" cleverly diluted through seven months of censorship. No individual or individuals were blamed. As a result, no one who shirked their duty was fired. And no one is being punished. You could well say that no one is taking responsibility.

Just keep repeating the mantra: "911 was not Clinton's and his lib cronies' fault. It was the fault of intelligence--it was the fault of intelligence--the fault of intelligence--forget what the libs and the libmaster did to intelligence and to the military and neglected to do while getting special treatment from Monica!"

The tape, broadcast Sunday by the Arab satellite station Al-Arabiya, was from Ayman Al-Zawahri, a top official in bin Laden's Al Qaeda terror network. It said the threat was a response to Washington's announcement that it will start putting the detainees on military trials that could result in death sentences. From the arab news link you posted "Americans are ignorant of Arab history" I picked up this gem of a quote:
"They fail to remember that the Arab nations were conquered, in the 19th century, by European nations who were at the time more powerful vis-à-vis the Arab world than the US is today. Yet it took the Arabs between 30 to 80 years to send all of them packing."
HAHAHAHAHA The europeans would never have left if the USA had not been adamant about that!
You should all read the article it's soooooo funny: according to him the mongols where beaten by the arabs!

I have just read a very interesting book on the subject call "Breakdown : how America's intelligence failures led to September 11 by Bill Gertz"
I would highly recommend it, one point I found of interest was how the CIA in particular suffers respect of Dem and Rep administrations.
The Democrats believe US Intelligence agencies can do no right and attack them at every opportunity to the detriment of US Security
Republican administration do the opposite, they believe they can do no wrong and protects incompetence and empire building.
I will not assert I know the authors politics but he does certainly is no fan of the previous administration.
in short a very good read.

Thank you Susannah for the link.
Oh, Ted Turner? Well, yes, he's, he's...not relevant, a left-of-left libberal, and his money is dwindling away.
