Anita:

NOT!

"If you love Me, you will obey My commandments"

1 Thessalonians 4:2-8

2   For you know what commandments we gave you [1] by the authority of the Lord Jesus.
3   For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you (1) abstain from sexual immorality;
4   that (2) each of you know how to possess his own [2] (3) vessel in sanctification and (4) honor,
5   not in (5) lustful passion, like the Gentiles who (6) do not know God;
6   and that no man transgress and (7) defraud his brother (8) in the matter because (9) the Lord is the avenger in all these things, just as we also (10) told you before and solemnly warned you.
7   For (11) God has not called us for (12) the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification.
8   So, he who rejects this is not rejecting man but the God who (13) gives His Holy Spirit to you.

I call it one tortured soul's accommodation to the dissonance.

God have mercy.

But rewriting The Manual doesn't work.

The Author has something more important than copyright.

Supreme Authority. He's the Boss. He tends to like things to go the way He designed them.

I can't explain all the stresses, pressures within and without that such a soul obviously goes through. We all have some horrendous dilemas to work through, survive, learn from and grow from.

But rewriting The Manual does not work.

Here's their nest today.

with lots of secondaries

Here's a peek at its progress in the 1800s.

And here's Susan B.'s support for it.

Here's some info on how it started in ancient times

Calvinist information on the same (same teachings, more or less, from other churches exist on the same but sorry, I'm out of time for now).

She left out #3.

3. I am a hypocrite.

I can read what scripture says, but I selectively read it so I can have my cake (#1) and eat it too (#2). Regardless of the glaring contradictions I try to rationalize what I'm doing with what I know is right. For a while I prayed and struggled with what I knew to be a problem, but then I blew all that off and decided that God has issued a special dispensation for me and my wife. I use every possible occasion to clothe myself in a semblance of Christian behavior, so my blatant and unrepentant disregard of God's strictures on homosexuality might go unnoticed, along with my gleeful celebration of sinful behavior. I have no trouble swallowing camels while straining at gnats. Whenever people exhibit any disapproval of my ways I either call them nasty homophobes, or cover my eyes and ears and seek out those who'll laud my superficial Christian attributes and ignore the cancerous sin that has captured my soul.

..you feel as though there's a choice you're going to eventually be forced to make, either to walk away from your faith in God or to deny, reject, or attempt to change your attraction to other women

Every Christian married man faces the same choice.

For that matter, so do Christian singles who are past 30 and are facing the terrifying possibility of never marrying. A few have the "gift of celibacy" and are honestly content living single, sexless lives -- but most of them are in a state of daily agony, crying out to God and wondering why they've been rejected for so many years. (I was unwillingly single til my late 30's, so I speak from experience.)

For those whose marriage is long delayed, or who will never marry at all -- yet are committed to God's law of abstaining from sex outside of heterosexual marriage -- the spiritual struggle is intense and ongoing. This article may be of some value to such a person: Talkdown: Preparing for Singleness when you'd much rather be preparing for marriage

Well, scripture doesn't condem lesbian behavior to anywhere near the degree it condems sodomy.

"until bedtime when we fall asleep beside the other."

She says she's a Christian, yet 'shacking' up with someone, be it a man or a woman, she has no problem with.........I think she's just babbling to make herself feel redeemed...it's still a sin........
I'm a Christian, yet I sin everyday......we all do, doesn't make it right just cause I'm a Christian......
Weirdo.

1. I know I miss things sometimes. Did I miss the part where she even tries to reconcile Scripture's clear, emphatic, and unambiguous condemnation of homosexuality, with her notion that if she desires something, it must be good?

2. I knew a woman fairly well who took a similar path. Tragic, very sad. I still pray for her.

LOL! Being a lesbian is VERY UNCHRISTIAN. Being a lesbain is a sin because it violates the teachings in the Bible.

My guess is that this is what God is doing:

Psalm 37:12-14

12 The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them;

13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.

14 The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.

I also laugh at the absurdity of it while feeling bad that they are enroute to hell if they don't have a change in heart.

First, congratulations on being saved. It's the greatest feeling in the world.

Second, being a lesbian isn't something you chose in any way that any of us finds us afflicted by sin of one specific type or another. Even Paul spoke about the demon who was the constant thorn in his side.

Third, the cross you bear sucks. I have mine though, and I don't want to get into it on a public forum, but I find myself afflicted with this particular sin, and find it difficult, sometimes extremely difficult to resist, and I'm not always successful in doing so.

The difference between you and me, however, is that I'm not asking God to rewrite the Bible for me. You are.

You are lapsing and you know it, just like when I lapse and I know it. I hate myself for it and I work on it everyday.

This is who we are though. As Christians, the thing that salvation did is make us realize that the world and its promises are empty. There is no happiness on earth that doesn't come to you through Christ and submission to His Father's will.

I will pray for you. As you know all sins are essentially equal in the eyes of God, and the deal after salvation is helping save others and leading an exemplary life.

So my question to you is this:

If you feel that this life you are about to enter can be sanctioned by God, then do you also feel the same way about a pedophile entering into a relationship with what may be your 8 year old daughter?

Like you, most pedophiles do not choose to be who they are, and you yourself admitted that for you, this is something with which you have been afflicted.

So, in your ministry, what would you say to some poor man or woman who struggled with the particular demon of pedophilia, who had never been with a child, was a saved Christian, and then came to you asking for advice about the possibility of living a more natural life, more openly?

Look, I wouldn't wish on anyone the demon of being a homosexual, and I pray every day that one of my three kids won't one day wake up and find that he or she is homosexual. There is nothing fair about it. Being on earth, however, means being subject to the one actually in charge on earth, and that would be Satan. Right now, you are playing into his hand, as we all do from time to time. It's never right, and it is something you strive to free yourself from until the moment you die.

I will pray for you every day, that you find the strength to listen again to the will of God, that you find as much peace as any Christian does in a world at war between God and Satan. As much as it doesn't feel this way, your marriage will be a big win for Satan, even though you yourself are saved, and nothing can take that away from you.

Yours in Christ.

Yeah, there probably are such things as Christian lesbians (or homosexuals). But they are most miserable if they are participating in same gender sex. God chastises those He loves.

To: LiteKeeper; the-ironically-named-proverbs2; All
Isa 55:8-9
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
KJV

We know that the bible teaches homosexuality is wrong:

Rom 1:26
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

Rom 1:32
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
KJV

But in the very next verse we are told:

Rom 2
2:1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
KJV

John 8:7

7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
KJV

We will all be judged for our sins. I don't think it is for us to understand God's judgement and the bible tells us not to judge. Just one perspective. I think it's a good thing that she didn't turn her back on God, her other issues are between her and her maker. Just because one isn't supposed to judge doesn't necessitate acceptance.

Anita: Jesus said you must be born again. He also warned that many would claim to know Him, but that they never did. He warned that even the demons KNOW of him...the demons can quote scripture....saying you made a decision to "believe" in Christ, is NOT the rebirth, which is a supernatural experience FROM God. The homosexuals I know of how were RE-BORN (not just decided that they believed in Jesus and would act like Christains, were immeadiately delivered FROM homosexaulity. God did not speak through His prophets, and warn of homosexuality, only to change with the times. God did not destroy Soddom and Gommorah for fun. If you will recall, the men refused to offer of the female, and wanted the male.

Jesus did not hand pick the Apostle Paul to deliver the Gospel to the gentiles, and then allow him to preach unjustly agaisnt homosexuality. Paul said that those who practiced such received in their bodies the "just recompence for their actions".

It is NOT what you "feel", Anita, that counts. It is what the God of the universe SAYS that counts. I'll take Paul's words over yours. Paul said, "Do NOT be decieved....no homosexual will enter the kingdom of heaven." PERIOD.
