He sure does. Thats neat. I don't have any Bluejays that I have seem this year. A lot Red Birds and many others come for the chicken feed. Eve loves to feed them.

Thank you, Houston. )

My family came here 171 years ago and I expect to get acclimatized any day now!

Hopefully, you will soon begin to feel like you belong, and not such a newcomer. LOL!

Yes they are cute.

I sent some pictures of them to my Aunt in CA and she was talking to my Mom on the phone about them. My Aunt said to my Mom those are Longhorns and my Mom said Oh My God I though they were cows. My Mom lived next door to the Longhorns, she didn't know there was a diff in cows and Longhorns. LOL.

Great sound effects for the ducks! Those ducks don't usually live as far north as Waco, but somehow this family was walking down the street in my neighborhood a couple of months ago and the kids ran into the house, "Mom! Get your camera! There's a cute family of ducks in our yard!"

Can you tell me what is the desert island meal for a Texan? I know small wars have been waged over such a topic, but will it be beef or pork, or maybe sumptin' with beans? ;-)

My father and his mother were born in Jack County. My grandfather was born in Missouri and moved to Jack County while very young. My paternal greatgrandparents are buried in Jack County.

I visited this cemetery in Jack County on my first trip to Texas as an adult.
It has been cleaned up since, but I didn't mind wading thru the weeds
to discover the burial site of my greatgrandparents.

Afternoon ma'am. Thank you kindly for the waltz.

Like Mama Bear, our family drove across Texas back when I was a pup. Don't remember too much of it, so I hafta rely on the old 8mm home movies to unclutter the cobwebs. Seven of us in a '47 Chevy with no air conditioning, no tape player, no CD. Just an old AM radio and my sister leading the singing to the songs on the radio. We did have an air conditioner of sorts. It was mounted on the passenger window and it had a tank which was filled with ice and water. More like a swamp cooler once the ice melted and the water warmed up from the hot Texas sun.

Our Texas destination was Beaumont. We saw the whole Great State of Texas from west to east through the windows of the car long before the interstate.

We figured the state tree for Texas was an oil derrick after seeing so many of em.

Once we got to Beaumont, we experience first hand the hospitality of Texans. Uncle Victor prepared and served up his recipe of fricassee chicken.

Someday, after I win the lottery, I'd surely enjoy visiting Texas again. Would take a year or so to get all around the state visiting the sights and all the Texas FReepers.

Thanks for the tour. I've still got some dance tickets left... May I have the next waltz?
