There are conservative Anglican churches throughout the US, Australia, UK, Canada, and so on:

From their website:

II. PRINCIPLES OF MORALITY

The conscience, as the inherent knowledge of right and wrong, cannot stand alone as a sovereign arbiter of morals. Every Christian is obligated to form his conscience by the Divine Moral Law and the Mind of Christ as revealed in Holy Scriptures, and by the teaching and Tradition of the Church. We hold that when the Christian conscience is thus properly informed and ruled, it must affirm the following moral principles:

Individual Responsibility
All people, individually and collectively, are responsible to their Creator for their acts, motives, thoughts and words, since "we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ . . ."

Sanctity of Human Life
Every human being, from the time of his conception, is a creature and child of God, made in His image and likeness, an infinitely precious soul; and that the unjustifiable or inexcusable taking of life is always sinful.

Man's Duty to God
All people are bound by the dictates of the Natural Law and by the revealed Will of God, insofar as they can discern them.

Family Life
The God-given sacramental bond in marriage between one man and one woman is God's loving provision for procreation and family life, and sexual activity is to be practiced only within the bonds of Holy Matrimony.

Man as Sinner
We recognize that man, as inheritor of original sin, is "very far gone from original righteousness," and as a rebel against God's authority is liable to His righteous judgment.

Man and God's Grace
We recognize, too, that God loves His children and particularly has shown it forth in the redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that man cannot be saved by any effort of his own, but by the Grace of God, through repentance and acceptance of God's forgiveness.

Christian's Duty to be Moral
We believe, therefore, it is the duty of the Church and her members to bear witness to Christian Morality, to follow it in their lives, and to reject the false standards of the world.

There are more conservative Anglican Churches listed in the Anglican Mission in America at:

http://www.theamia.org

Look for church locator in side bar.

From the site:

"The Anglican Mission provides a way for congregations and clergy to be fully Anglican—connected to the worldwide Anglican Communion through the leadership in Rwanda and South East Asia—while, at the same time, being free of the crises of faith, leadership and mission in the Episcopal Church USA.

Specifically, AMiA is now focusing on planting new Anglican congregations from coast to coast throughout the United States."

The link is a little more direct than that. Not hard for a computer wise kid to find.

It's mad enough, don't exaggerate. But even our bunch would not dare consecrate a Robinson.

I can't help but believe that if the bishop elect was a heterosexual or a Catholic priest these charges would NOT be dropped so easily.

The liberal establishment can't wait to take part in THIS cover-up, because it advances their cause, which is to remove Christianity as a force in our society.

"Hey, don't knock Catholic sermons. Some of the younger priests in our diocese are brilliant homilists. As seminary education re-focuses on scholarship, theology, and rhetoric (as opposed to "social justice", psychology, and butt-piracy), they will continue to improve."

. . .Well, that is good news. . .and thanks for the 'update'.

And can the United Methodists be far behind?

I bailed on the Methodist church about 10 years ago. These "liberal" churches are in a slow death spiral.

"minor" modifications?

I'm no expert, by far, but I understand the canon required some re-wording for validity.

"As an Anglican, accustomed to (and loving) the language of the '28, I'd be very uncomfortable faced with what I perceive as the clunky language of the '79 Rite II. But a younger Episcopalian would probably be even worse off faced with what he would probably see as the stilted language of the '28."

Well, an 'upside' somewhere here, but do think these reductionist revisions - and as you have noted with the BCP - have lost much to the 'modernized clarity' and brought a 'flatness' into the language of the liturgy and, as well, into the various up-dates of the Bible.

The 'Liturgy-in-Latin' offered a 'spiritual resonance' that by-passed 'word-for-word' focus and instant analysis; and IMHO, a Latin Liturgy is more readily experienced as a 'language of the spirit'; so to speak. . . :^)

Sadly, your analogy to the Episcopal church to communism is getting closer and closer. Of course, all religions move that way much of the time to keep control over their flock and get as much money from their parishioners as they can afford to give.

. . .perhaps you have a differing opinion you would like to share? Or is that all there is. . .

I'll offer one opinion. You could lighten up on the periods................................

Oh how lovely, the den of Satanists has decided they can clear him only after 24 hours of "investigation."

that was more than enough time considering the weakness of the "allegations."

when i finally read the details about what "sexual misconduct" he was accused of, i nearly laughed out loud. i'd love to meet the guy who got freaked out (no doubt retroactively) by having this priest touch his *gasp* "bicep, shoulder, and upper back" while they were talking at a public meeting.

hilarious.

really. . .it is just a habit. . .

. . .working on it. . .

Anything else? Perhaps more substantive, relevant. . .

U think they have to do with the words of consecration so as to conform to the doctrine of transubstantiation. That would mean they are not minor but substantial.

Here's another opinion; The Episcopalian Church, like many other so-called Christian denominations, is imploding. Not from lack of membership, which is how many of them keep score, but from a blatant disregard of scripture in favor of popular culture.

The fact that the Epscopalian Church has elected a self professed sodomite as bishop is not the cause but rather a symptom of a much larger problem in Christian churches throughout the world, namely apostasy.

Revelation ch.2: vv.4-5
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
