It doesn't seem all that clever to me, but then they have nothing else to say. The Democrats are in a disgraced scandal, running against a very popular Congressman. The Rat nominee is detested by his own party old-guard.

To try and run a governor's race against a very popular President in an increasingly conservative state that was very strongly for Bush is not a good tactic. As on the national scene, if the economy continues to improve this will backfire hugely. As it is, it will probably be a dud of an issue. It can't help them, only hurt them. Fletcher is doing the right thing on this - when they try to link him to Bush, he embraces it wholeheartedly. It was a theme of his campaign already.

It also might bring Ah-nuld to the Bluegrass to shove it in their faces.

I just looked at the PDF cartoon. Pretty sophomoric, and low-rent. I cannot believe they are running negative, but against Bush. These guys are off their rocker. This is not New Hampshire.

Chandler got a surprisingly strong challenge in the primary because it was negative, and it looks like he didn't learn his lesson.
