Without a responsive and uncorrupt majority in Congress the solutions to this economic mess will not be implemented. And, I'm not sure how much time we have left to fix it.

I keep expecting someone to start demagoguing this issue, but so far even the Democrats are looking the wrong way, pretending to be blindsided. I don't know what's scarier, if a Dem challenger sees it before Bush does, or if nobody sees it.

What scares me most is that no is talking about it. It is to good of an issue to leave alone.

Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo are outspoken about the issue and are very Conservative Republicans.
What I think I'm seeing is the Democrats talking about jobs in the hopes of turning this into a union issue. Pelosi, Gephardt, and Graham have begun to tap into this discontent.
Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo speak about national security. Tancredo is very concerned about the borders not being protected. Duncan Hunter's bill to require DoD to purchase 65% American goods is going to fail, posted here:

Tancredo's stance on illegals is not popular with liberal politicians because they like those votes (ask Bob Dornan who lost to Loretta Sanchez). Tancredo is pushing to to curtail the H1B visas also.
I think Conservatives should take the National Security argument to push forward the economic agenda. Otherwise, we will sound like unionists and play to Dick Gephardt's union tune. And, we certainly don't want unions, we want to avoid their comeback.
We just want America back, it is being stolen from us just as sure as our technology is being stolen by Red China.

if a Dem challenger sees it before Bush does

You guys have to quit pretending that Bush doesn't know or understand this...Of course he knows...What do you think the Bush's New World Order is all about???

The Mexicans have come here (illegally) to take the jobs the very uneducated American people don't want...That's fine with you guys...Then the Mexicans and Chinese take the jobs that the factory workers have...That's OK...They're just a bunch of union bums that cause you to pay too much for everything...

Now, the white collar jobs are going to India...Because you guys are making waaaayyyy too much money...And you think the patriot act was passed to protect us from the foreigners???

Check the usual sources and you will find that Sen. Chris Dodd (D.-Conn.) gets it.

”I don't know what's scarier, if a Dem challenger sees it before Bush does, or if nobody sees it.”

Or the other possibility which is really scary; they both see it and have no plans to do anything about it.
