The general response to them was the President shouldn't get involved in state elections. Translation: Knock yourself out. After all this is a "grass roots effort" and NOT a "vast rightwing conspiracy to overturn an election" as some state Democrats have tried to portray it. Or can't you read between the lines.
Bush is smart enough to handle it the right way. I bet there are some of his fingerprints in the background. It's called "strategery". ;)
