PARIS -- Raul Rivero is not at all well. The Cuban poet and journalist has lost some 40 pounds (18 kilos) since his arrest on March 20 and he has serious problems with his blood circulation. At 57, Mr. Rivero is being held in terrible conditions in a mosquito-infested prison more than 250 miles from his family. The Cuban authorities intend to make him pay for his persistence in reporting what really happens in Fidel Castro's "socialist paradise" despite every discouragement. He has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
