CNN Just Revealed It Was a B-52 That Dropped A bomb on Nagasaki in 1945!
CNN at aprox. 9:20 PM, CDST
Posted on 08/09/2003 7:36:04 PM PDT by Tacis
By accident, I stopped on CNN just as they were doing a story on the anniversary of the successful peace action at Nagasaki in 1945. They showed some older Japanese people as the female announcer, in a voice deep and wet with concern, told about today's moment of silence at 11:02 in commeration of the time in 1945 when "a B-52 dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki."

On the "news" side of CNN, they should run this tape every 30 minutes or so. It is well worth the effort to catch it to see an example of the left wing media being far more concerned with the revisionist emotional picture they can present for today's lefties than they are about basic factual accuracy. Maybe some of the failed NYT folks have moved to CNN.

Boy...that B-52 must be one FAST plane....hehehehe Time warp. It's like when Captain Kirk and the crew of NCC-1701 were shot around the sun and went back in time to 1967 and met Gary 7.

That is like saying the Space Shuttle put men on the moon. I have seen glaring inaccuracies in the media, but they don't care. A Story is more than just facts to the left-wing media.

This just shows how good our military was, and is. They can fly planes 9-10 years before those planes even go into service! Of course, it also shows that details and facts are not the strong point of leftists, but I think we already knew that.

LOL wouldn't surprise me. As G. Gordon Liddy would say, "They don't even know which end of the gun the round comes out of!"
The only thing worse than CNN I've ever seen is ABC World News Tonight. Cheesy. The local newscasters are better, and that ain't saying much.

9:20 PM, CDST I see you got the time covered regardless if we are on daylight savings time (CDT) or standard time (CST).
You do know, though, that there is a difference between the two, don't you. While most of the central time zone is currently on CDT, some Indiana counties don't observe daylight savings time. Those counties are on CST all year.
So which is it?

The B-52A first flew in 1954, and the B model entered service in 1955. A total of 744 B-52s were built with the last, a B-52H, delivered in October 1962.
But then, leave it to CNN to screw it up.

More like 20 years in this case
Of course the B58 went fast enough it could have caused a time warp - after all, Jimmy Stewart (as a Brig. Gen) was even checked out in one

B-52, B-29, B-17, B-2, B-1 .....The libs at CNN not only don't know the difference, but they don't want to know the difference. To them it's all the same --- big bad planes flown by mean people who get pleasure out of bombing the little brown peoples of the world.

The conventional cover story until now was that the Fat Man A-bomb was dropped on Nagasaki by a B-29 named Bock's Car piloted by Maj. Charles W. Sweeney. But that's because it could only now be revealed that it was in fact dropped by a B-52 moved back in time by a time machine.
