They're playing a dangerous game.

In my opinion, they're sending Arnold a serious warning. Drop out, or he'll get a visit from the Arkansas mafia.

Isn't it rather ironic for the Clintonites to accuse others of "groping women", while they were and are defending Clinton's worse actions?

I'm sure he gets more hits the more reporting he does on Arnold. That's why he does it.

From John Fund Political Diary, WSJ, 8/8/03...
Mr. Schwarzenegger will also have to weather attacks on his personal life. He has told reporters that "I've had a wild life" and once said he didn't want a political career because "you have to clean up your act."*

That's not what the polls indicate. Simon (7%) and McClintock (9%) compete for one group of voters, and Arnold (25%) has a completely different pool. I don't think those Simon and McClintock people would go for Arnold if the conservatives got out. As for Bustamante, he's at 15%, and I don't think he's got much of a chance of pulling more from the other constituencies. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a third place finish. I bet Arnold will outdo him among Hispanics.

I just wish one of the two conservatives would get out--we'd even have a chance of beating Arnold then.

"How could the dems oppose Arnold on these grounds when they blindly continue to support a known rapist?"

Because hypocrisy has never bothered them. They don't want Bustamante facing a liberal Republican front-runner in October. They want a known conservative opponent. But McClintock is no Simon. He's a seasoned politician with no baggage. He won't be so easy for the democrats to sucker-punch.

Depending on what the democrats have, AS could be in trouble.

Anyone know if Mulholland is the same lunatic RAT party spokesman that was on Rita Cosby's Fox show last night discussing Arnold? Whoever that guy was, he was acting downright psychopathic. He was blatantly spewing the same old talking points that the *mainstream news media* have already reported over and over would be tried (so nobody watching could possibly have fallen for it): It's all a VRWC, a FAR-right plot at that, the election will cost about $14 trillion to hold, blah blah blah ... and he was acting out the utter stereotype - a self-parody, really - of the the angry, bitter, venomous subhuman RAT. The best was right at the end as Rita was about to move on to another story, and he suddenly screamed "RECALL JEB BUSH!" at the last possible moment before his signal was cut off. Even Rita Cosby was left laughing at him after that crazed non sequitur. (The whole time, of course, the GOP guest was calm and rational, letting the RAT hang himself with his own rope.)

If that was Mulholland, I'd like to know. And if anyone can find a transcript of that interview (again, it was just last night on "The Big Story with Rita Cosby,") it would prove very illuminating to many.

That was Bob Mulholland!

In that case, I hope he remains the California RAT Party spokesman for a long, long time. He's a walking, talking guarantee that the recall will pass and some Republican will win (be it Ah-nold, McClintock or anyone else).

The only Dems that seem like straight shooters to me are Nelson from OK (I think), who usually votes with Zell Miller (and I adore him). That is, FOR the President's judicial nominees, and against the filibuster. The other one seems to be Evan Bayh, who seems to be shaking his head in perplexity at the shenanigans of his own party. Some of you might have personal experience with either of them that differs though.
