Matt Drudge puts conservatism before political affiliation. Arnold isn't the only conservative who could win this time. Bill Simon, a true conservative, received more than 42.2% of the general vote (to Davis's 47.6%). October's winner will likely get much less. I'd wager that most of these vehement Arnie supporters would prostrate themselves to Bill Clinton if he changed parties and ran for the Senate. I wouldn't be surprised if the blind enthusiasm of all these party before principle types actually inspires Der Slickmeister to do it!

The more women that scream he "groped me" the greater his margin of victory. Well except for the religious right wing of the republican party... but it won't matter. Most of them were going to vote for anybody else.

Rove vetted this stuff on arnold in april when arnold met him at the whitehouse. The "groping thing" will prove a minefield for democrats in California... should be fun to watch the fireworks amongst feminists and their allies on such matters... in the republican party.
