I don't think the average American Joe is "too stupid" for his own good. Ignorant of issues? Maybe. Indifferent? Definitely. But to paint all Americans with a big brush like that is something the elite liberals do. They claim they know what is best for this country, and if the voting public doesn't go that way, then they must be inferior in mind or reason. I am personally disgusted by such arrogance.

One of the best discourses on conservatism Ive ever read. As Rush sais, when conservatives run on conservatism, WE WIN. We lose when we get caught up in the "discusion" instead of standing for what we believe in. These points outline the core beliefs of most of this nation (just try telling the media that).

Wow. Thanks for the kind words. We who share this philosophy believe that it is based on the solid values that made America great. Yes, they are old fashioned, but that doesn't mean they are out of date. They are not. The term "far right" was created by those on the radical left who do not want to deal with common sense answers to problems.

When I asked my dad about politics, he gave a very simple answer.

"Republicans/Conservatives generally don't think they can spend your money betteer than you can."

"Democrats/liberals always have something to spend your money on, and always think its better for them to spend it, than for you do spend it."

..or something to that effect.

I believe the terms "right-winger" and "left winger" were translated from the French during the early years of their 1st republic. It seems the politicians were kept on opposite sides of the chamber to keep them from fighting.

Other than overlooking Coolidge, I think DFU hit the nail on the head. Well perhaps the homersekshual thing could better be phrased as "leaving us the hell alone" rather than "us leaving them alone". Oh well... herding conservatives is like herding cats.
