My first NASCAR race was the 1999 Daytona 500. I was invited by a high school friend I had not seen in 30 years. I was not up on NASCAR at that time so I did some reading. I did not want to appear NASCAR dumb in front of my old friends. I decided that Jeff Gordon sounded like the guy I wanted to cheer for. Turns out they were all #3 fans. Just my luck. I was a Maine Yankee in a Southern Military College and a #24 fan among #3 fans.

To make matters worse, there was a row of gorgeous women just behind us. They all had all painted their nails with a white #3 on black.

The only thing saved me that day was the fact that "The Right Guy" won that race. LOL

Out of obligation to the family, I root for #38.

You're not a Lord of Discipline, are you?
