What if Davis faces reality and resigns, making Bustamante governor and eliminating the recall vote and election entirely? If these numbers hold, Davis will be getting big time pressure--any chance he would resign and let all the air out of this balloon?

Please go to the corner of the room, by the chalkboard, and write one hundred times "Davis resigning does not stop the recall election!". If any other Freepers post the same "what if Davis resigns" scenario, at this late date and after ALL the posts clarifying that point, they must join you with chalk in hand. If anyone reads this post and STILL writes about Davis resigning to cancel the election they will have to do so while wearing a dunce cap with Algore's picture on it!
