A great many of the problems we now have are caused by people who insist that "political experience" (i.e. professional politician) should be a large part of what makes a good candidate.

No matter how you slice it, Davis is so far left that ANYONE more than a half inch right of center appears ultra conservative.

Will Arnold be good for California or not as bad as Davis is the real question. From what little I know about his politics, I tend to believe that he will be good for Calif. finacnially but won't be as bad as Davis socially.

Davis and Arnold have very similar views. Both like abortion, gun control, homos and think government should take care of our children at taxpayer expense.

Not really. He's pretty bland, a bit leftist on social issues (moderate for a California Democrat), and fairly leftist on economic issues (he spends like a madman, that's about it).

His problem is that he's a creep with fascism issues who spent his time in office raising money for his reelection campaign and spending the taxpayers' money at a rate faster than the money was coming in. He was spending tax money before he collected it, and when the state's economic boom stopped, we were stuck in debt and he did nothing to curb spending. I say he's a "creep" because he's got a creepy personality and that he's got "fascism issues" because he doesn't believe in the separation of powers--he said the legislature should work to "implement [his] vision" and he said judges who disagreed with him should resign. He's really weird and unlikeable, and now it's time for him to hit the road.
