It was 106 here over the weekend and I didn't think it was bad. A little warm but nothing that would kill anyone ---and I didn't sit an airconditioned rooms ----just ceiling fans and open car windows.

I live in Phoenix, AZ. This Saturday we broke record at 116F and 60% humidity. Sunday It was 114F. Today it was 111F. I don't see what the big deal is about 100F and 80%...I mean take a cool shower for once in your life or go to the beach you strange French.
AZ is a major area for retired/elderly people, so thats not it. It must be the smell that is knockin the french down.
TO FRANCE: DON'T FEAR THE WATER, IT IS YOUR FRIEND. USE SOAP TOO.
