Police want pot crusader barred from stations

Shaughn Butts, The Journal / Followers look on as Marc Emery smokes up Sunday.

EDMONTON - Wearing a conservative blue suit, B.C. marijuana activist Marc Emery lit up a water pipe in front of Edmonton police headquarters Sunday afternoon and was promptly arrested.

The leader of the B.C. Marijuana Party contends poss ession laws no longer exist because of recent Ontario court decisions.

Before lighting up, Emery said the fact that people can be political and take action makes Canada "the greatest place on Earth."

Two Edmonton police constables stepped into the crowd and led Emery inside, to a chorus

of boos and jeers from about three dozen supporters who decried the arrest as unconstitutional.

Federal Crown prosecutors have told Edmonton police that laws prohibiting marijuana possession are still in effect, said Insp. Dick Shantz. Officers charged Emery with a single count of pot possession.

Police also tried to stop Emery's campaign by asking that a Canadawide ban preventing him from going to police stations unless he has a legitimate complaint be made one condition of his release.

"We're getting tired of dealing with him," Shantz said. "He's tying up our manpower with his illegal crusade and we're not going to put up with it."

Others were also smoking marijuana but Shantz said no one else was arrested because police did not have the manpower.

Emery, publisher of the magazine Cannabis Culture, was arrested in Calgary on Saturday.

He was earlier arrested in Winnipeg, Regina, Moncton, N.B., and St. John's, Nfld. He was not arrested at stops this summer in Toronto and Charolettetown, P.E.I.

more research will be forthcoming and we're going to find that sucking hot gas derived from a burning weed (tobacco, marijuana, whatever) into your lungs is not healthful.

Is research really needed to arrive at that conclusion?

Dopers have a lot of class. They just reek of it.

This, coming from a guy who advocates beating the mentally ill to show them who's boss.

Poor guy, is he dying from cancer or have some bad disease or is he just another addict trying to attach others to his sin to pass the curse around?
I can't see God blessing drug addiction, even for Libertarians.

You'd be surprised at the number of people that think that pot has magical properties.

Don't blame the caretakers, the parents, or the individual for his acts of free will. Worship the all seeing Ozzy if you dare. If any thing is responsible for Jack Osborne trying hard drugs it is first and foremost the sins of the father. But, fame is to blame in part. Even the show producers should take some blame, since they had to be around facilitating through the blind eye peering luridly from behind a camera as he cohorts with the notoriously heroine chic promoters of the hard core. It is all about ratings and sound bites.

1 Kings 15:3 And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him:...

You can not see because you are blind to the word of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Show me the scripture that calls the burning of herbs a sin. It does not exist.

GOD MADE HERB
GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD
GOD GAVE IT TO MAN

Genesis 1:11
Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so.

Genesis 1:12
And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:29
And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.

Some seem to believe that an herb given by God to man and beast alike at the beginning of time and which happens to have grown freely almost everywhere, including here long before our nation was formed, is permissibly eradicable by the federal government through powers granted by the interstate commerce clause of the Constitution. Though, nobody has ever shown me a logical explanation of how this could be true.

Matthew 5
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

The question you should be asking yourself is, "do you see God blessing the war on herb? and the passive possessors and preservers of this gift from God?

Can you really not see that it should be a duty for freedom loving Republicans to keep government from imposing upon individuals, through force and coercion, arbitrary puritanical beliefs that are contrary to established religious facts, beliefs and scripture?

God never said get high and change your brain chemistry through drugs, cause accidents, get arrested for theft, violent behavior and cost the public bunches in monies for your addictions.
Look at the results of drugs and there is no similarity with good works.

He also did not say thou shall help addict others!

I am only grateful that law enforcement can subsidize the cost of criminal behavior by confiscating a dealer, user or producers assets.

The Govenment has done much more of this than the people have in the War on Drugs.

God never said "take the children from and imprison and steal from those who would possess this herb which I made, saw was good, and gave to you." The oligarchy of doctors with their corporate lapdogs the DEAmen in black masks have said so and you blindly follow like a Tory traitor to American Liberty.

Romans 9:32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone;

Psalm 103
2 Praise the LORD , O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6 The LORD works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers
of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Your like a robot drumming out the party line of the pro-dopers.

What you are saying is we do hate when criminal activity has to be held responsible and the answer to this is to change a vice, sin, crime to a legal activity and so self medication can become legal in every way and this part of the world can GO TO HELL because of it.

Please don't infect people with that kind of thinking, irresponsibility isn't a virtue.

Please quote me from the Bible where it says
"Put into thy body that which causes harm to both yourself and others"!

What a load of manurer you are trying to pass here at FR!

Vice (using illegal drugs for recreation), and sin are anti-God...Not of God!

If the illegal users and participants in the drug field can be attack by enforcement by confiscating their personal assets from criminal behavior, then that is a good thing.

Why should the public be made to shoulder a bigger burden than they have to with tax dollars?

You suggesting the public pay for taxes when there is a mechanism against criminality that helps the criminals pay is hardly a hero's viewpoint.

Your pro-addiction views do not make me surprised that you have the view you do about this either. Enjoy your day and just say "NO"!

Hell is the state of being in which one is no longer in communion with the Holy Spirit. There is not one thing holy about the war on drugs.

You still can not answer my questions.
Are our federal or state 'powers that be' ordained by God if by definition they are separated from the Church? Are they ordained by God as they willfully violate the Constitution which they are sworn to uphold by waging war upon their own citizenry, stealing their property and imprisoning them for the possession of a flower from the Garden of God?

It is simple fascist ignorance to believe that this herb bearing a seed is just a weed to be eradicated when it just so happens that its seed contains the most complete and absorbable combination of amino acids required by the human body for sustenance of any plant on the face of Earth

It was God which gave us free will.
Satan, the adversary, and his minions attempt to make us use our will adversely to the will of God. Since God made herb, saw that it was good and gave it to man then those that wish to eradicate it are opposed to the will of God. It is pure incontrovertible logic. Who's side are you on?

The Constitution.

Amendment V: nor shall (anyone) be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
