If Lewis Brown so richly deserves protection, why not send your own son over there?

We have all kinds of security needs right here at home, and you're talking about Lewis Brown as if you know him, or something.

For crying out loud, we're EVERYWHERE in the world. I never thought I'd hear myself saying stuff like this, but this is adventurism. It's foreign policy by TV. That, or it's a good case of using the military to do something that some pack of bleeding-hearts and charities or the French might as well handle.

This is an exercise in symbolism, or it's going to be a boondoggle, and everyone in what was an America-loving country will come out of this with ill-will for the USA.

Where to begin?

First of all, I was commenting on your attitude. If you can't find something inspirational about what our soldiers did for those people, there's something wrong with you.

Second: you're right. We seem to be almost everywhere in the world. Get used to it. If you're voting for Bush next time around, there's going to be more. That's the plan. He's trying to do something about terrorism and dangerous, unfriendly countries developing nuclear weapons.

Third: If you have something against humanitarian aid, there's something wrong with you.

Fourth: "an exercise in symbolism" ..Yes. It's called the United States of America. Take a look at the flag in one of the pics above. The White House is trying to do what they think is best. There are no guarantees. However, EVERYONE in that country, will not have ill-will toward the U.S. A little optimism, please. I think our Marines would appreciate it.
