I forgot, I wanted to give Central Vally folks an crime alert if you haven't heard of this:

Crime wave in the still of night

The hooded men break down the doors of country homes in the early morning hours, usually between midnight and 6 a.m.

They rush inside and head for the bedrooms, waking people with shouts and waving guns in their faces. They tie up the victims and search their houses for loot, consistently finding money and jewelry.

And then they're gone.

Outside the courthouse, Scott Peterson's parents, Lee and Jackie Peterson, said the prosecution served them Thursday with subpoenas -- advising the Petersons that they could be called as witnesses during the preliminary hearing.

Lee Peterson said the move was an attempt by the district attorney's office to stifle the couple from publicly saying their son is an innocent man grieving for his wife and child.

"I guess the Police Department and the DA's office think that's threatening to them, so they did this," he said, holding up a green subpoena. "The true purpose of this is to place us under the gag order."

And in the face of logic like that, this mule-headed judge still ruled to keep the hearing open?

His statement has a sort of ring to it; it's kind of reminiscent of "Do anything you want to me, but DON'T throw me in that briar patch!!"

This also probably means they won't be able to sit in the courtroom throughout, and listen to the testimony of all the other witnesses--or stare certain witnesses down, as the case may be.

Saw a pic of the "satanists" who owned the brown van in NE/Star.

Gimme a break. These folks look like finding the next meal or place to sleep is a daily task. Killing Laci and disposing of her body with in the fashion it was is not a task they appear capable of.

I hope they were payed something worthwhile to be in the rag so they can clean up and get a good meal and maybe an apt or trailer.

Here's more pollution. Yesterday while in the grocery line I tried to read an article in the Globe about Laci. From what I got out of the article, (while being rushed along) is that Geragos thinks it is suspicious Laci's family wanted the wedding dress, that the family is trying to hide evidence.
