Apocalyptic preacher Jack Van Impe....
They just wanted his opinion on the Democratic Party's chances with Dean heading the ticket.

That's nothing. I got a call from my capo over at the Bilderbergers last week to notify me that Bush is actually taking his marching orders from Adolf Hitler. He's been on that 600 year-old-medication since 1951, you know....

Perhaps Ms. Rice is doing what I often do: check out what the morons are up to as an inverted confirmation of your opinions or strategy.

I'm sure this man is telling the truth. After all, why would anyone bother using the NSA, CIA, FBI, or any number of government intelligence resources when you can just dial up a religious nutjob and have him whip you up some half baked prophecy instead?

actually just a comment on Jack Van Impe - he is a noted Bible Scholar and not at all an alarmist!! The picture you posted is from his weekly TV program that is very informative and helpful!! He would be a good source to check in these days.

My sentiments exactly. That guy (and his wife) have gotten stranger and stranger over the years.

he is a noted Bible Scholar and not at all an alarmist With all due respect, every time I've managed to tune into Jack van Impe over the past several years I think he's a bigger nutball. Each week he claims that some half-dozen or so Bible prophecies are fulfilled. I'd lay a dollar that this weekend (or next, depending upon when the show is taped) he'll "prove" that yesterday's blackout is a direct fulfillment of some prophecy.

It's not out of the question. There are a lot of Christians in this administration, and it's entirely possible that one or more have decided to get a Biblical perspective in Middle-Eastern Events.
On the purely political side, it's also possible that Rice's office contacted Van Impe (and maybe some other apocalyptic types) just to get some feedback and find out just what the premillennial evangelical feeling on the "road map" is; i.e. how much resistance they can expect to face from their own side of the political aisle.

As a recent church teacher on the Book of Revelation, a human "interpreter" is hooey.
John's book, although prophetic in nature, is also so symbolic that no one can predict in any detail where we are in the process.
And I guess that this wonder forget Christ's words - that no one, not even Him, knows the time - only the Father.

Oh stop being so cynical! I love Jack and Rexella -- they do a great program from a scriptural perspective, and Jack is a noted Bible scholar. I guess you'd have to be a Bible-believing Christian to appreciate them.

I got a premillennial evangelical feeling
And I know you won't let me down
'Cause I'm already standing

Please include the qualifier "dispensational" premillennial when referring to the likes of Van Impe, LaHaye, and their ilk. Thanks.

Isn't Iraq the original site of the Garden of Eden ?Your usage implies movement elsewhere.
Care to venture a guess on subsequent location(s)?

I hope he told strongly advised them to back off Israel and stay out of its affairs, unless it is to support them.
