Bill Simon is closely linked to Catholic Charities, a group that advocates amnesty for all illegal aliens. |
Simon Said No to 187
Terry Anderson Show -- Feb. 17, 2002
Terry Anderson: Would you support a new Proposition 187 if it came along right now? Would you support it vigorously and be for it?
Bill Simon: You know, I think it is a federal issue. Honestly. And, so I don't think I would.

Prop 187 IS NOT a federal issue. It was to save California from giving ILLEGAL ALIENS welfare, food stamps, free school, and free medical.Looks like McMlintock is the only one left.Simon says GET LOST BILLY BOY!
To: SunStar
So not only is Simon a complete loser and a Rat pawn, but now he's not even conservative.

Anyone know McClintock's view of Prop 187? That's precisely the problem, I don't. I read his proposed policy paper and nowhere in it did he address illegal immigration. None of these candidates seem to understand that an anti-illegal immigration stance is a winning stance in CA. All they have to do to convince themselves is to take a look at the overwhelming % of the electorate who voted in favor of anti-illegal immigration initiatives in the past.

I believe he's said he will enforce it and go through the courts with it.

If Simon goes away, then will you support McClintock or do you favor the repeal of Proposition 13 as does Warren Buffett whom Schwarzenkennedy describes as his "HERO" and his "MENTOR".
You might also bear in mind that the constitutional question that quashed Proposition 187 is not going away. The Equal Protection Clause of the liberal toy chest known as the Fourteenth Amendment confers equal rights on all PERSONS and the Fourteenth uses the word CITIZENS elsewhere as to due process. The illegales are persons. The government can deport them but, while they are here, however ludicrous it may sound, they are going to get the same social benefits as any citizen. The basic concept of a welfare state is anathema to conservatives and the only answer is to scrap the welfare state programs for EVERYONE.
An interim solution is to spread the financial burden nationally through Congressional enactment and reimburse burdened border states.

one of these candidates seem to understand that an anti-illegal immigration stance is a winning stance in CA. Actually, I think Schwarzenegger does. He hired Pete Wilson to be his campaign manager and it has come out (on purpose) that Schwarzenegger voted for Prop 187.
So Simon's out of the running as far as I'm concerned. I want to know where McClintock stands on illegal immigration.

say Mojo... LOVE the Culpepper flag!
Read the responses to you on other threads... you brought
up Tommy MC and illegals/187 yesterday...so to repeat
myself: Tom stated in no uncertain terms that he wants all
immigration laws adhered to 100% and wants to have 187 get
a fair hearing not the unethical arbitration BS that made
it disappear under Davis! Tom's your man, even if he doesn't highlight it on the webpage... hope that helps...

Ummmmm, there a fair number of litmus tests that help us distinguish conservatives from non-conservatives. Ahhhhhhhnold fails every one.
Many have claimed that Schwarzenkennedy can do nothing to limit abortion even if he wanted to and that abortion is a false issue as a result. If that were true, it would be equally true that he can do absolutely nothing about benefits to illegals because the Fourteenth Amendment Equal Protection Clause won't let him or anyone else. It protects all persons not just citizens. You can round them up and deport them for being here in violation of immigration law. If you do that, then you will also, on paper, be penalizing them from seeking legal entry for an extra period of time.
You can cancel the benefits altogether for everyone which used to be the conservative solution. What you cannot do is have socialism and not apply it to every person. Not socialist schools. Not socialist welfare checks. Not socialist health care. Not socialist tuition breaks. I know this sounds insane but read the Fourteenth Amendment and see if you do not agree and, besides, these are courts, you were expecting sanity from those black robed molestors of all things decent and American?

For Roman Catholics posting here, be sure to click on the link in the original post to "Catholic Charities" which is actually a link to that rousing anti-Catholic bigot sheet of the "American Border Patrol" wich wants you to ask Catholic candidates such as Bill Simon what he thinks about the Catholic religiousdoctrine of papal infallibility, as though it was any of their bigoted paranoid business. Apparently this is a group of those hopeful that Schwarzenkennedy, like his wife's Uncle Ted the Driver will prove to be an anti-Catholic Catholic.
Remind them that the old anti-Catholic Know Nothing Party died in the mid-1850s and given the Catholic percentage of the US population which is 28%, I don't think anyone is planning on winning on the anti-Catholic platform not even Schwarzenkennedy.
Feast of the Immaculate Conception bump to the pinged Catholics. Notify all your lists. Call your friends. Call the fair-minded non-Catholic friends as well. Draw attention to the "Catholic Charities" link posted in support of Schwarzenkennedy and ride to the sound of the guns.

bill sim*n had his chance. Sorry bill, I won't be interested this time. When it comes down to Tom McClinktock vs. bill sim*n, bill sim*n is "the zero candidate".
I have zer* interest in his campaign.
bill, drop out today!billy simØn = the zerØ candidate !
To: SunStar
That was almost ten years ago. Schwarzenegger's opinions then have very little relevance to today. And this post has very little relevance, since Simon has changed his position since then.
