Nah, that's not going to happen. So, there's some i-dotting and t-crossing going on here. The election will take place, either in October or at another time.

You're not going to start shooting anyone. Are you even from California?

You may have missed my point. I do not see the circus in California as the last straw by any means, but simply another indicator of the widening chasm between the various races, religions and world views in our society.

After rereading my previous post, I was unable to find any threatening remarks against anything or anyone, however, I do not think it far-fetched to believe that one day the fabric will tear irreparably under the strain. When, and if that day occurs, I intend to stand against the forces of darkness, no matter what banner they may wave.

In answer to your last question, no I am not a resident of California. Whew!

I just grow weary of empty predictions of some sort of "civil war," made so frequently here. Whether it's gay marriage, a ban on .50 caliber rifles, or just about anything, some folks pop up here and say that the world as we know it is ending and there's gonna be a civil war.

There's not going to be a civil war, Cracker. Despite everything, this is still a pretty great country. Sure there are things I don't like that go on, but I'm not dusting off my firearms.

One thing's certain, those who believe that they will emerge the victors in this "civil war" are fooling themselves. They represent maybe a couple of percent of the population.

And they're not the only ones who have arms. For myself, I live in a nation of laws, and I'm a veteran, so I've sworn to uphold the Constitution. If folks start shooting because they don't like some court decision, then I and many, many others will be on the opposite side.

Don't like the way things are going? Then get out there and change folks minds, get some new people elected, and throw the bums out.

There's not going to be a civil war, you see, so I wouldn't wait around for it.

I was referring to Jeremy Fogel. Maybe you shouldn't talk about what you do not know, you know? This thread is about that judge's decision, and his background.

I could not agree more.

In terms of outlook, there are many more who share your view than mine. I wish I could be as optimistic as you about our nation's health, but regretfully I cannot. Hopefully, your prediction, "There's not going to be a civil war, Cracker" will prove correct, but I do not think so.

As to emerging the victor in any civil war, I do not see anyone emerging victorious. The foundation that this nation was built on, both north and south of the Mason-Dixon, is what preserved it after the War Between The States. In the years since that great sacrifice, the foundation has been seriously eroded and the structure is in grave danger. It may not collapse, but if we continue to tolerate and even brazenly promote sin, in ourselves and others, the United States of America will eventually go the way of all corrupt nations.

I still have a deep, abiding love for this nation, MineralMan, and I dismiss anyone's attempt to question my loyalty or commitment to the republic.

From my perspective, the glass is more than half empty. You are free, for the time being, to view the status quo in any way you wish.
