I must admit I didn't follow Hines career too closely but I found this article to be surprisingly positive and different from the usual junk from the entertainment industry.

Yes, it is a different take on a "star". Thanks for posting it, it's nice to find out good things about the real lives of people, and not just sordid stuff as people often delight in telling.

One of the most memorable moments I've ever seen in showbiz was where a terminally ill Sammy Davis Jr. appeared with Gregory Hines...it was kind of a "it's your turn" passing-of-the-baton moment...one whose time was ending while the other's career was peaking. I'm glad to see that Hines shared his gifts with so many outside of Hollywood. He will be missed.
